I’m going to be looking to pass along the front brakes off my ‘16 Challenger. They only have 2000 miles on them since new. They have experienced some heat a couple times on hauling it down from 180 mph on the half mile, but I was using a chute to help so overall they have not been abused. They’re coming off today and I will be able to get pictures of them off the car tomorrow. I’m looking for some thoughts on what I might expect to get for them. Any…. 🤔 2F1CA6C9-7368-4765-B442-896FAACA0F42.jpeg

Just curious why you’re changing them out?

Check eBay, lots of used ones on there, would help you get a feel for the market.

Yours are going to be nicer than any on there though, so I’d ask the top end of the market.

I’d put them on a forum with 392s/Scat Packs as well, they’ll bolt right up and it’s a relatively cheap big brake upgrade for them.

Dudes! The car is now a DragPak. I’m pulling over 100 lbs of unsprung/rolling weight off the front with the change in suspension/brakes/wheels. I’m using a parachute to slow down. 😂 1D4ABB80-7A73-4FD3-933E-55A306E727B0.jpeg 11C29B30-300B-4D18-93C4-5EEE03CC149C.jpeg 770876E7-0DA9-498F-B883-2581401C12F2.jpeg 09923A65-B4C4-47DE-82CA-6B52AAAC984B.jpeg AE7429C5-3A83-4807-B3B9-DE82A637D450.jpeg

The only set I know of that would be similar that actually sold came off a 2k mile '20 RE. They brought $1350. I expected them to bring more.

Thanks. Not surprised. I’m thinking maybe $750? Shipping is going to be ridiculous! In the real world where people just go to a dealer and pay a fortune for new brakes, I doubt I’ll be able to get a fraction

$750 for everything? I might have to pick them up off you for that price and I drive through St George twice a month…

Do the calipers have any clear coat peeling? Mine are peeling a bit, probably going to get worse with time.

I will have to take a look and get close detail pictures. They’re off the car now but I wont get back over there until tomorrow. Honestly the car is ridiculously clean. It was basically taken of the street at 1500 miles and has been a drag project since with occasional street testing and a cruise or two. It’s never been driven in the rain. I know that sounds like bs but it wasn’t all that hard as it never rains in St George Utah. 😂

Well I've gotten not much interest in my brand new rings... So use that as a data point.

I might pick those up off you if I buy these from Marc.

You might try listing them on a couple of other Challenger sites. I frequently see guys looking to upgrade their R/T etc.

I find it almost humorous that 3700 is considered pretty light. These boats must have a lot of metal in places we just can't get to.

Well…. There is a little bit of the mentioned wrinkles. Weird deal. It’s almost like there was clear tape on there that melted as there is line edge and nothing elsewhere on this one and nothing on the other. I’m going to make my mission to get rid of it ! 😂 35A53DD8-3A43-409A-A9AE-50E5002376FE.jpeg 19FD6DFF-78D4-4F74-84F9-9DC603F19966.jpeg D465AEC4-A7BB-4C05-93C8-9B626DCE56DE.jpeg A4AF290F-0896-4CFE-8C23-A8C13D6067BE.jpeg BBEEE2BA-5A33-4168-BDC3-0AEB99066471.jpeg 70F395B2-6768-47B6-A51A-0354432CD07F.jpeg

Marc, even with the condition of the calipers (which seems to be pretty standard on our cars), $750 is still a great deal

If you don’t want to mess with shipping the rotors, you could just sell the pads and calipers at that price and I’d think they’d go quick if you posted them somewhere.

Do the heat spots discolorations ever come out of the rotor? Like if someone would turn it or after a certain amount of normal use? I know some people won’t turn them because the slots might break the bit on the lathe ($$$$) but I’ve also spoken to other machine shops that will do it (I think at a very slow speed to prevent from breaking the bit).

I’ve been too busy to even look at them but when I get a chance, I’ll clean up the calipers and see if I can make those wrinkles go away. I’ll ask around about turning the rotors to get rid of the spots. Thing is…. We’re just talking about esthetics as they are solid as far as function goes. Considering what someone who is in need of new brakes for one of these things is faced with…. 😳

Agreed but the uninitiated may be turned off due to the aesthetics. If someone will turn them for $20/rotor, you could easily double your asking price I would think.
