My New In Car Camera Tripod Mount

As the title says, it's something that I came up with & made to video my Performance Pages gauges when at the track, b4, during & after each pass to see how things look, since I always pull my front pass. seat for the track it's a good place for this Tripod mount. I don't data log so this is my data logging, lol. It's tall enough to also video out the windshield if I want. It came out pretty nice & study, I haven't done a test drive yet or to the track but soon. It's 1" aluminum flat bar, 4" x 4" top ss plate, some cutting, bending & drilling, bolt it together. I used the factory seat bolts to bolt it down.

Impressive. Did you consider using shock absorbing mounts? The hard mounts will vibrate like crazy.

Awesome job. Looks professional. Creative and nice workmanship. I bet it would look even better if you could have the parts anodized to the color of your choice. Other multiple benefits:
1. Another good reason to not have a passenger
2. Possible additional cup holders can be mounted
3. Patent it and sell the rights to Weathertech

No, I wasn't aware of this, I've put the suction cup phone mount on the door glass with no vibration, but didn't have a good angle to vid the guages. So we'll see how this does ?
Total cost for me was $25 so no big lost either way.

I thought about making it a quad mount, but not sure if it would be any more solid & didn't want to take up all the floor space for other stuff if needed.

Good looking stuff! I mount mine to the windshield with a suction now and hard stuck it there before. The vibration is not bad, so it should not be too bad mounting there either IMO.

It's a cool set-up, but I think you are going to have vibration issues unless the tripod or camera mounts are 'soft'.
Unless of course your camera is self stabilizing , in which case - never mind

Well I did a street test drive with the iPhone camera mount & viewing it normally it looks ok but when I zoom in, then I can see vibration, streets not the smoothest. Maybe the track will be a little smoother, or will need different mount or camera.
