Don't know how I missed this (all this time).
Drivers side Hood front corner.
Anyone else have anything similar?
Looks like foam or bondo.
Just over 5000 miles, so essentially still new.

Just a shot here; but it looks like it was repaired, and the the bondo/whatever collapsed inward. Clearly it was painted over because of the sharp break in paint edge lines.

I don’t think you take it in for oil changes but did you have it in a shop recently?

Actually, took it in to be looked at due to the rear end making a clunking noise.
The only time I think this could have happened.

@DodgeCares
Clunking like the infamous limited slip additive noise?

What the hell, Hunter? No matter what that is (can't really tell in the picture), it shouldn't be there. There are aluminum panels spot welded together with only a little seam sealer at the outer edge where the outer skin is bent over the inner panel. I can't even imagine what would have caused someone to do a repair there. Other than hood was shut down when there was something sitting on the header panel and bent the hell out of the hood. Another picture comes to mind where someone started drilling holes for hood pins by mistake (at upfitter) and realized the mistake so it was repaired.

Also see where your underside of hood is gloss. My B5 Blue car is flat, base coat finish under hood, no clear coat. I feel for you and what you're going to have to go through to get a correct and acceptable repair.
OMG, the horror....the horror. :(

Wow Hunter sorry about that. Def do not have anything similar. One slight bit of good news, maybe: It does not look like bondo so maybe someone at factory got crazy with seam filler? Hope that's not an indicator of bigger underlying damage. GOOD LUCK. You take too good care of that car for it to not be perfect, especially if it's no fault of your own.

I dont see HOW anyone (particularly you) could MISS THAT opening the hood over 5000 miles even NOT looking for it. Hell I bet you open the hood after every wash and wipe under the hood, edges etc. No way you can miss that, even just checking the oil. The color difference is striking, your eye would be drawn to it.

Poss it was a repair or defect and it came apart while driving at higher speeds?

I'd 2nd this thought. There was a small excess drop/blob of seam sealer there that got painted over & eventually 'chipped off'.
