Do they wrap around the fender opening at the bottom, in turn allowing for less travel? I noticed my 315/60/15s rub on the fender lip under certain circumstances, it doesn't seem like they do at launch though but with more power at launch, I'm worried they will. I have been considering the same flares as you or just going to the full widebody flares and fender liners on the rear to tuck the tire.
They do very thinly. My cars not lowered so I don’t worry about it. 20 track launches and no rub with the 315/50/17. 325/60/15 pro might be a different story but I doubt it

Also had to do with the offset of the wheels. Some are better than others

Spacers are fine as long as they’re hub centric and you do longer studs, which I did when I did new hub bearings earlier this year

I also did something not a lot of people do or even think of - I got the rings for the inside of the wheels so they sit on the hubs. Most wheels have a bigger bore on the inside, so I got custom ones and rtvd them to the inside of the wheel bore for a perfect fit. Helps with balance/vibration issues. My car leaves straight every time never shakes the tires and zero wheel hop
