I was taking my skinnies off today and notice what appears to be rubber or something on them. I have never seen this before on them. I drive to the track with them on and have been doing this since last year with these tires. I drove to the track Friday and Saturday. It is 25 miles one way. There are a lot of new paved road between the track and the house so wondering if that is what it is. I was thinking the tire may be melting but why didn't it ever do it before? It does come off but kinda feels like rubber. It is not every where so I don't think it is the tires

Looks like you ran over tar or new asphalt maybe? Anything stuck on the car?

That is what I'm thinking. Didn't notice anything on the car or rear tires

I got that while driving on a road course.

Drove 50 miles home on normal streets and highways and still had it.

I'm betting you picked it up on the last track you were at and just didn't notice it until now?

I was taking the tires off today from driving to the track this weekend. It wasn't there when I put them on Thursday, very noticeable

Do the skinnies have a warning in them about not legal for street use?

Doesn't look like the tire melted based on the grooves/channels still having a lot of life. What it looks like to me is that stuff they use for asphalt patches in your driveway. That or some track glue/residue.

Looks like track glue to me. Mine have done that before and I've gotten in the habit of driving around the pits a bit to clean the tires off before I swap back to street tires.

Looks like any tire after a road course session. It looks like you picked it up. It had to be hot and/or sticky (glue) to stick right?

Bet it happened on the starting line? The cars running stock tires tear up the rubber layer that the cars with slicks and drag radials lay down on the staging area and starting line when they do burnouts. The bits and pieces are somewhat hot and sticky and probably just got pressed into your front tires when you rolled over the residue?

It may have happened at the FAST race Friday. They don't put any water in the burnout box. I have a block in the garage for a stopping point and Saturday when I backed up the block moved. I never does that. Did it again Sunday morning. Was the stuff on the tires sticking to it so It was there from Friday

That looks like my rear drag radials do at times when I leave the track.
You likely picked that up at or near the line. I have had that on my fronts a couple of times.

Adhesive enhancer, heavily applied, I would say. How hot was it? Or, if they're dumb as dirt like here in Texas, excessively applied tar/asphalt and bonding agent. Interesting was only the fronts.

It was 70-80 degrees. Nothing on the rears. I'm thinking it has to do with the roads being they are new
