In Ford's case you advertised a 40k electric F150. By the time they hit the dealers, they were over 50 with huge dealer markups.
Ford kept increasing sticker price and now the trucks just sit.

People wanted the 40k F150 EV. Not the 80k one.
And rates are something like 9% now.

And Biden tosses in $7500 to help with the purchase

Toyota was right again. Maybe Stellantis can hire some of those executives to get their shit back on track.

Earnings and sales aren't profits. Tesla sold $1.78 billion in carbon credits in 2022, which was the difference in being profitable and operating at a loss. And their sales numbers were sluggish until they lowered their MSRPs by 20% across the board. Carmakers don't significantly cut (or cut at all) the price of something that they can't build enough of. Remember when Dodge cut the price of Hellcats by 20%? That was great.
