I had a Friend with a mildly modified Demon running in Houston last January in really good DA and his car had a Hiccup on the 1-2 shift. Alex Peitz lowered the 1-2 shit command 200 RPM and the Car picked up from 10.04 to a best of 9.77 So just that simple change made a world of difference.
Sounds promising for you Ron.

So..........it basically comes down to this: do you leave it as is to keep the warranty intact and just live with it (or hope dodge can take OSTMikes findings and use them to fix it), or do you have mike fix it in the tune and potentially lose any drivetrain warranty should something break later? That's a tough call to make.

I think a lot of us are sort of in this same gray area right now. I'm not willing/content to live with this long term, will tune it if I have to. But that wasn't my original plan when I bought the car. Still love it overall though.

If it was me, I wouldn't waste the time trading from a Redeye to Redeye S/S. Unless you don't get killed with trade in value (that would happen to most people). The S/S doesn't appeal to me enough to trade in my 19" RE whatsoever! I wouldn't mind the demon brakes and suspension. However, the WB only option annoys me. Not everyone likes the WB, and the Demon 18" wheels are heavy. Every serious Demon racer ditches those wheels and crappy nittos. I'd rather swap out demon brakes and suspension, and mod my PCM than take the hit on a trade in. The WB option is a deal breaker for me, it kills the classic challenger lines. Now IF the S/S can be had like a Demon (1 seat no options), that would help it out a bit for the serious drag racer.

The WB RE Charger looks a lot better than the WB Challenger imo. Just my opinion of course, but the RE to RE S/S isn't a big enough difference. The only thing that would make me consider a trade in is a lighter platform at this point.

What's the PCM Dodge Mod? Hiccup fix or ?

Man FCA know how to screw customers. You better tell Jim and Tim to step up with this BS. Tune the car from the factory to hiccup then void your warranty when you get a tune to fix it.

This kinda stuff makes me not want to be a Dodge customer.

Yup this should be a recall. Every Redeye owner should get this fix.

Thanks for the update Ron, and for all you have done trying to push this up to the people who can possibly help. Their desire to just get you into another car worries me a little, perhaps we will have have to seek out the aftermarket for a fix. I was hoping better tires would help with this and possibly fix, but just today I was merging onto the freeway with MT ET Street R 305s on the back and rolled into WOT 2nd gear and it hiccup'ed on the 2-3 shift pretty bad. Was bummed...

Wondering if it would help to push another case like yours up through my dealer? Maybe more of us could? Think it would elevate to the people you know at SRT and they would give us a proper tranny tune? It can;t be that hard for them really and we wave the f'in flag for them like few others do...

BTW @DRAGRCR frostbite>hellraisin

What is interesting guys is with good traction and at about 80-90% throttle, it will bark the 345’s in the 2-3 and 3-4. It shorts that max RPM better than a guy can manually I think, and the computer lets it rip. The stutter at 1-2 is absolutely inexcusable, I am glad it like never is a problem on a road course because it is too slow. But, we cannot slam the throttle open, and/or don’t try it on the street or the same awful hiccup happens like Eric describes.
