I'll take 130 ft-lb to the front wheels for a 100 lb penalty to help get this thing in motion. After that cut to the petrol because that supercharger will be screaming and wanting more. Then it can quickly shift to its gas-rubber diet speaking of hybrid.

Yeah that’s been kicking around for a while now. I think it’s def coming, first as a hybrid and most likely eventually all electric. Maybe in the upcoming new platform.

Totally against this electrification, but in the end , electric motors with their instantaneous torque at zero rpm is intriguing on the front wheels.

We can not stop this trend, it is going to happen whether we like it or not.

I’m ok with a mild hybrid system. I’m just not ready to start running extension cords to my cars

I'm down with it. How can you not like a head snapping launch and still make some noise :) All electric...not so much right now.

Now why did I first think that this was going to be a article about the HC engine being dropped in to something like a PRIUS and not electric motors added to our beloved charger & challenger models?

In a few years, we will be of the lucky few that picked up the final versions of the last true muscle cars.

Sounds good to me. I love it all, big petrol engines, sexy high tech electrics, combo of both, whatever goes fast and is a good time. In the future the electric powered cars will be the performance kings of the street. Not going to fight it, though I would fight any legislation that takes away my choice of an energy source. Back off AOC, you can't have my Hemi or any of my other scary looking things!

When it goes all electric I guess I’ll go back to childhood days pushing my toys cars and blowing air out my lips making engine sounds.

My 2019 ram 1500 has the mild e torque option, I like it. Mileage is about 4 MPG better than non e-torque in the crap traffic I drive in (based on comparisions with Phasthemi 2019 ram 1500).

FCA has a big problem with corporate mileage and already paid massive fines, they need to find a way to comply, the credits they were buying from Tesla are gone, Tesla has no more.

I wouldn’t have a problem with my daily drivers or truck, but damn .... not my performance cars.

Come on what is the difference? Same sound and exhaust, why not use a electric motor(s) to help the beast get going. The real issue is the weight, the cats are already 4,500 pounds. In the Ram 1500 the battery is under the rear seat and electric motor sits on top of the Hemi with a belt drive. The motor starts the hemi when it stops at stop lights, not the starter. I would have no issue with the same system on a hellcat.

It’s probably my old school mentality. I’d much prefer they use a new platform and reduce weight rather than adding electric.

Yep, I agree, the weight is unbelievable. BTW, if you plug in the weight and wheel HP on the ET calculators that are available on line, they are so inaccurate on the Hellcat/Demon. It is amazing how quick they are with the weight.

There is a reason that the order banks are still not open on the 2020 Challengers (am I correct on this?, I think so), something continues to not smell right.

I like this idea.

An AWD Hellcat Challenger/Charger has always appealed to me. I’ve had the pleasure of riding shotgun in a Trackhawk from
0-100mph and the force that vehicle takes off with is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.

Yes, members have posted that they still can’t order 2020.
