Does the Demon or Redeye have different metallurgy in the differential than a regular Hellcat making it stronger?

Good question, I was told no. Side by side they do look exactly the same but I know what you’re asking, is the housing material a better grade of aluminum. Anxious to hear input from others especially if someone can post something from a factory spec sheet not just guesses or opinions or advertising hype which make mountains out of mole hills just for sales. Like the 30% additional piling up top which is just a larger orfice size in the head gaskets to allow more oil up top, which all the gaskets past 2018 have. Same for crank shafts, only difference is “revised balancing” which it just for the different pistons and rods not anything special or stronger about the crank, their both induction hardened, same journal size, same material, etc. All be it valves are different because of single groove stem locks on the RE/Demon heads, Blocks are the same BGE block just painted a different color. I’ve heard material in the Diff is supposedly stronger but have never seen a material spec in writing on the material used in both diffs. Interesting topic 👍🏻

Yes I agree and have also heard about the better metallurgy in the differential all the way back when the Demon came out and it's better driveshaft because of stronger type metal..

Yes, drive shaft tube material is thicker.

It's still FCA/Stellantis gears, which I haven't had good luck with. DSCN0843.JPG

I’ve often had thoughts of getting a RE DS and having it modified for use in a M6. May still try that someday being the Mark Williams 2 piece is over 5k now

Diff drain plug aye? Probably clutch material
No, level plug on a Ram. No clutches in that one, and friction material wouldn't be sticking to a magnet anyway.
Look at the nice curly pieces of metal. DSCN0845.JPG

Semi metallic friction material is magnetic and that’s sure what that stuff looks like, Differencial clutch pack lining material.

There was an alloy change but I don't recall from what to what, also if it was only Demon, or all RE and WB?

Trust me, that's not friction material from a diff with clutch packs.

For one, it looked and acted just like the mild steel chips you'd get when using your lathe.
But more importantly, the helical gear diffs in Ram pickups have no clutch packs. As you can (barely) see at the top of the photo. It's all gears. DSCN0844.JPG

Now the question is the 18 and up Hellcat WB A8 driveshaft the same strength as a Demon/Redeye?

Supposedly yes, check replacement part numbers would be a way to tell posdibly?

Yea, agree, that does not look like a normal diff with clutch packs. My boy ruined the Diff in his RX8 doing a zillion doughnuts and what was stuck to the magnet was clutch pack shavings with that same metallic marbling in it.

I just verified part numbers and the widebody Challenger A8 driveshafts are all the same..53010846AB

What I remember from the Demon literature on the differential was that the alloy had some kind of treatment (heat perhaps) that would make it stronger. However, when they started breaking a lot of people felt that treatment meant to make them stronger actually made them more brittle in the process.
