So first owner drove about 150 miles a year and sold it in 2022. Second owner had it since 2022 and drove it about 120 miles total, but at least second owner had the oil changed even though it was only 1 mile between oil change lol. Shame they didn't even enjoy the car.

Add up the insurance, storage, maintenance, etc I'm not sure these folks are making out to well?

Well considering $100k in 2018 is $121k today.....

If you're out enjoying the car it's all moot but these people who stored them away lost money. My buddy stored one and couldn't sell it in 2021 with 20 miles on it. He's an old school collector and wouldn't listen when I tried to tell him its not 1970.

My buddy ended up getting the dealer he bought it from to buy his back. He went in 50/50 with some other guy and promised a huge return and I think the other guy got tired of waiting for that to happen. I think he broke even price wise as he paid a bit over sticker but lost after insurance, maintenance, heating, cooling, storage etc. All he did was drive it up and down the driveway to warm it up. Shame really.

That is pretty sad, 'investment' or not I doubt I could have resisted driving it at least a little bit in good weather !

I tried to get him to let me trailer it to Beech Bend for a couple passes, he about passed out at that suggestion lol. I think he thought it was gonna be a $200K car.

Never understood cars as an investment,,,though rare exotics can..(and usually are the exception)...buy the car..and drive it for heavens sake...I like all my cars..never cared bout resale value...
