I truly am amazed RAM has done nothing and I mean nothing to address a really cool street version SRT Truck. And now here is Ford offering a really cool truck and some may laugh but come on who here has a Trackhawk???? And damn those ain’t cheap nor practical for most so why would FCA not build a really cool truck with the real deal HC motor like the Jeep and or even the RE motor. And yeah yeah the TRX is coming someday and that’s cool but she’s competing with the Raptor being a off road beast, I want a low to the ground performance truck which truly would be bad ass smoking so many street cars.

Nope, not gonna happen. SRT is no longer in the truck business. Trucks are a RAM thing and I’m good with that. I recall when my 2008 was delivered. I damn near died when I saw that RAM badge on the nose. It was gone in a month. 😂

They made one years ago with the V-10. I don't know how well it sold. A few of my friends had them and ran the hell out of them :)
But I agree....they should make one again, even with a 392 in it would be nice.

As a former Lightning owner, I had to defend both trucks. People would say "there is no need for those trucks to be produced". I agree, but I'm sure as hell glad both Ford & Dodge made them. 😂🇺🇸

What's not to like about a truck with a supercharger on it :)

I've run a Lightning as my daily driver since I bought my first back in 2003.
I am on my fifth.
I've been hoping for a ram to be built with the Hellcat motor just like the SRT10 as a performance truck.
The F150 Super Snake Sport does looks real interesting.

Why wait and not just build your own? Both Torqstorm and Procharger make HEMI kits and will push north of 600hp relatively easy. F150s are doing 11s with ease on stock 5.0s with a blower. My TBSS got into the 11s with a D1SC at 5300lbs including the two car seats still installed.

As long as Ram doesn’t screw up TRX I’ll be thrilled. They’ve taken so much time I’m afraid it’s going to be a flop.

Umm, I don't. But I recently ordered one.
Why? Largely because 700+ hp vehicles are addictive, but also because it'll be a practical car for me.

It'll replace my Ram 1500 (with a camper shell) for a couple of years. At least that's the plan.
That 1500 is my all-weather mobile/El Camino, but while it is a practical car, it's not exactly exiting.

So, I'm hoping that the Trackhawk will be a more fun version of my current "beater". If it works out that way remains to be seen.
It'll definitely improve the odds that I'll slide off the road at some point, as it's tires surely aren't ideal for slush, snow and ice.

I've had multiple Jeep SRTs. Trackhawk is not different tire-wise. If you ordered the 3 season tires, absolutely can't drive in cold/slush/snow with them..as in, don't even try it. If you got it with the all season run flats, the vehicle is actually a beast in the snow. With the extra torque you'll need to be a bit lighter on the throttle, but throw it in snow mode and drive modestly and you'll be golden.

Thanks, Tannehill, that's encouraging.

It'll come with the "all-terrains", but since I don't know what tire it is I don't know how good, bad, or indifferent it may be. I'm looking at getting narrower wheels and tires for winter use, just in case.
It's the slush that can be an issue for me when going to pass someone and there's a small berm of it between the lanes. It'll likely have a bit more weight over the front end than the 1500, but also 295s, instead of the 245s I'm used to.

A tire can only displace so many gallons of slush per second, and if I would drive modestly this probably wouldn't be an issue, but I don't.

Oh, and I did order it with a spare, so I hope I don't get any (heavy) run flat tires.

If you didn't order the 3 season summer tires, then you'll have Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Run Flats - 295/45R20. Personally, I like them and I pay the money when it is time to replace them. Visually they make the truck look how it was supposed to, and they are also the tire SRT designed the handling and suspension around (stiffer sidewall). Honestly, I think most people make up their complaints to justify being cheap on replacement tires.

Unless it has changed (doubt it), the spare is a full size, not a donut, but it is not a 295/45/20 run flat. If you damage a front tire and need to use the spare, you will have to remove a rear tire first, put the spare on the rear and then put the removed rear tire on the front. The wheel on the spare will not clear the huge front brakes (maybe they have changed this).

Thanks for the OE tire info, I'll read up on those. My concern with run flats is the extra unsprung and rotating mass. When I managed to lose 10 lbs. per corner on my Golf R (and it didn't even have run flats, just overly large diameter wheels) it was definitely a noticeable improvement in performance.

So far it seems like narrower wheels and tires could be a win win for winter use, but I'll give the 295s a try.
Would've been nice if the Hellcat's narrower tires and wheels would've bolted on. Have a set of "all-terrains" with maybe 100 miles on them. And some Pirelli P4s, too.

As I recall, it will come with a smaller spare. Need to refresh my memory on that one. Not that I'd necessarily carry the spare on shorter trips, anyway. A good compressor and a Safety Seal kit weighs a lot less.
