All these types of videos are dumb. Put tires on them and go to the drag strip

I'll play devil's advocate and say 99% of people never go to the drag strip and wouldn't care the outcome there or understand it.

I am with @vortecd.

So the Charger 4WD Scat, good air apparently, they say it will do a 12.2 sec 1/4. He probably got it close. That means this deer frozen in the headlights with his hands pasted tight has once again as he does in every video we ever see, cannot drive the 800 hp car. If they tried this in 40 degree air, shame on them. Of course a AWD shit box wins. That is bullshit without appropriate rubber. He managed to get like a 12.5+ 1/4mi in a new Redeye. Sorry that’s bullshit, without large asterisks. What happened out of the hole, ten car lengths???

It sounds like crap and performed as you would expect. The Redeye performance is always going to be underwhelming in cold temps on an unprepared surface on stock tires… until it started reeling them in on the top end!

Anyone who has driven any HC in 40deg temps knows, there is no traction.

I wouldn't have a new Charger, just too big IMO plus it was designed as an EV first and foremost. It does sound like crap.

I don't think doing it at a drag strip would fit the audience though. Very few of these reviews do drag strip stuff, it's just not popular enough and no one would understand it anyway.

Shoulda put some decent tires on the Redeye though.

Surprisingly the 170 hooks up just fine on the street. No idea how or why but it does. At first I thought maybe I'd learned to drive these things enough that it was me, but I've gotten after it a lot harder than I would expect to hook up and it still does so they for sure changed the TC programming in the 170.

I enjoy TH for what it is, goofy and fun. I thought they did a good job on their Super Stock review!
I would like to drive the V8 Charger when it arrives, by the time it does arrive, my upcoming employee lease I ordered November 1st (2026 Grand Wagoneer limited) will be finishing up in a year so hopefully they offer some of the higher end options for us to lease. Right now the highest performance vehicle we can lease is an RHO

I'm waiting for the 2027/28 Charger Hellcat, preferably widebody and I'll make a decision to get one then. I do miss my yellow Hellcat I must say.

I really was not a fan of the new LB body style, but when I seen the attached picture, I must say I was feeling it, can't believe I just said that.

If it looks anything like this I may be back into one soon, that 2 door option is sweet AF and AWD.

Let's see what SRT does with this, anxiously awaiting.

I think they are showing what will happen to 90% of the owners. Most don’t go to the track and the AWD is going to be a major advantage. Now figure a simple Burger box or when they get real tuning and these things will rip. A simple Burger box adds 100hp.

I think Satera had an aftermarket system he was able to tune and he said for less than $5k you will have a little over 800 WHP on race gas

Agree. The dude said he was spinning in 5th. Either indeed those Pirelli tires are pure junk (I know they are not that bad, I have used them on the courses a few times in damp and wet), or his right foot needs calibrated.

@Speedy! that car has to be a blast! Hell I know it, mine is an almost, far away I know, so that item has to be so fun. Enjoy my friend.

That IS impressive. Sorry guys but when I actually saw the car Monday at the auto show, it was so ugly in person and cheap inside like a rental, I about barfed. Did not even shoot a pic.

Liked three cars, the Corvette, one of the Lambos and a Honda Prelude!!

Yeah the Prelude is "back" its a 2 door Civic hybrid with a CVT and a fancy front end, and costs about $52k Been out since october or november and theyve sold less than 250 of them. Might be just ahead of the Hornet in sales... Though dealers did try to tack on $5-10k ADMs. at least at first

TH also tracked the new Charger in a previous video on a road course. "James, this car is so bad ... it's like drifting a block of cheese". In the end, Thomas threw up his hands and yelled out "what an absolute fucking piece of shit!" (Had to read lips to get that).

There is an NHRA sanctioned drag strip just up the street from where they did this video, however it's closed for the season, Dodge just gave them this press car way too late in the year.

So, maybe '28 at the earliest we'll see another HC? Then ADM, debugging initial car problems, production problems, etc. Maybe '29, '30 might be the time to buy. I might be in the home at that point. Life is getting very short, I am glad I have what I have!

Reminds me of the story from back-in-the-day when Lincoln hired a marketing consultant who disagreed with the current marketing strategy. The execs bragged about how great their sales were before they hired the consultant. The consultant said: "In 10 years all your customers will be dead!" :ROFLMAO:
