Lots of guys running E85. Not many negatives I have read about other than needing to fill up more and getting the requires pumps and injectors installed. If you havent hit up search there are a few good posts from the drag racers that speak highly of the benefits.

I've been on a flex fuel tune for a month. I have never put 93 in since I'd rather run the e85.
I'm not a Redeye like you so I had to install dual pumps. You should be fine just changing injectors.
Is there a Specific reason you are wanting e85?

Are you referring to the Cat converters and e-85 or just e-85?

I’m curious as well if that’s the question.
I’m wondering if it’s worth putting the cats back on just to see if my car will pass smog. LOL probably not.

Now that I reread that I think you are right.
I am running cats. I haven't been running e85 long enough to give you the answer. I reached out to my tuner about the same concern and they have numerous customers on e85 with cats. I also did my own research and came up with the same answer. You should be fine running your cats with e85.

Yes. I screwed up the title
Ha! Sorry I misinterpreted as Hellcats, not catalytic converts... I'll let you know in a month or two once I switch. :devilish:

In my ignorance, I would think that the converters have LESS work to do with E85 than with E10.

A highly reputable tuner told me there’s no benefit in removing the cats even on E85 at anything below 1200 wheel. I was going to remove mine but I will let them in place now

As many flex fuel vehicles as there are from the factory I cant imagine E85 being detrimental to catalytic converters

Mines been running a lot of E85 for about 18 mos so far no issues with cats. COT needs to be adjusted in the tune though.

What he said. E85 is already 30% ish more fuel by volume, and with COT enabled it can dump too much and cause cat converter issues like burning them up for example. So that is usually turned off in custom tunes, especially E85 or flex fuel tunes.

Probably what happened to my friends with his first tuner. Car didn't run right so he took it somewhere else and now it runs fantastic
