I started a thread regarding this on other forum. Horrible placement for both cars. Still 52k is not reasonable. Wonder what the back story is that resulted in the 52k bid goes on?

Hype has worn off. I noticed the last auction one was around 90k. People are now focused on the GT500 and vette. Unless you are getting a Demon to park it, why not order a Redeye and get the same car for less money and drive it

I think dealers holding them ransom for large ADM's have helped to keep prices higher than MSRP, but even now they seem to be selling in the 95-105k range. But only 52k? Must have been a terrible time for that car to go up.
I did see the one at auction for 90k. Also a couple on ebay listed at 95k.

Part of the story here is this particular Demon has been up for sale MANY TIMES and been offered for over a year. I could have sworn it sold for 125K with that trailer this time last year ??

52K is obviously ludicrous (and no one will ever sell near that price). Gotta be an auction specific issue (no bidders, bad time, snowing out etc).

Looney tunes. I know people can get worked up over all kind of things (like My Little Pony what the **** ever edition for $17000, etc...) but I just don't see that, myself. No way I would ever pay $150,000+ for a Demon. But then, as Gordon Gecko said, the illusion has become the reality.

I remember that car with trailer for sale nearly a year ago too. Very weird!
