I have a 2021 Dodge Redeye, and am curious about Direct Connection parts and installation. Has anyone used this company? What about parts and installation costs?

Some certainly have, but not myself.

They have some stuff, many say it's "pricey", and then there's the issue of inventory, or more commonly known as vaporware.

Of course, regarding vaporware, I'm not one to judge, for those that know...

What are you looking to do? I might buy their fundamental bolt-on parts. I have hard passed on any of their “stage kits”. Too many reported problems from install to FAILURE. Not a good value either compared to what you can find privately. Hang around us and we can enlighten you more.

Intro, tell us more, pictures of your car? We are a visual-social group and like pictures.

I used Direct Connection back in the 70s when racers could buy performance parts at discounted prices.

Now, it seems that it's exactly opposite of what it was originally meant to be.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate any advice you can give. My goal is to increase horsepower via bolt-ons.

Thanks for your reply. I’ll be 76 in a couple of months, and this is top on my bucket list. I’m limited on my funds (5,000 - 6,000) and I’m realistic enough to know that this limits my selections dramatically. So I need advice on getting the best value I can. Some of the things I’ve been looking at are a180* thermostat, exhaust system, etc. Is the stock exhaust system better than anything I can purchase? Is the air filter better, or can I get a better one?

@Old Man’s Redeye Welcome to the forum!

Let me ask you, what are you looking to do.

Do you want to go to the track and have some Fsssst fun?

Do you just want some more street fast fun?

Are you will to give up an warranty that you may have?

A Redeye as is ..........is really a Dream car?

The AWE Exhaust is what I have installed on my Hellcat Charger. I love the Old school muscle sound.

This is a link for the touring version.
It can be a great sound and then you get on it and it's WOW ! I get many compliments and lots of questions about it.

Make sure that you scroll down the page to read the description and play the video to hear the sound.

I guess I should also say, that the Hellcat - REDEYE's came off the assembly line with pretty much everything for the need for speed.
Many think about how adding bolt on's back in the day that you can do the same thing now. But, there are many parts already under the hood, especially how they upgraded the RE parts.

I asked about your warranty, because to really increase HP, you will need the RE Tuned.

For what you will be doing 0 hp in exhaust. Some have been in the 8s with stock exhaust. I ran in the 9s with stock paper air filter. After market intakes are mostly for the sound. A tune and pulley change would probably be your best choice. @Jon-MooredPerformanceLLC would be your guy to help you

A friend just had the stage kits put on his Redeye, he hasn’t said anything yet about the extra performance. I also use Jon Moored you won’t be disappointed let me tell you.

For people new to mopar and Direct Connection, Chrysler high-performance stuff was pretty easily available in the 70's, decent in the 80's....and overpriced, sketchy availability since.... That's the last place I've shopped for mopar parts, for many decades. If ya want stickers or clothing....probably okay.

If you are in an emissions state concerned about the warranty, the stage kits are all right. The DC parts are nothing more than cherry-picked parts from AAD American racing headers and such. If you go with a non-factory tuner for power, that's the way to roll. There is no warranty, but that goes with the territory. And who knows what is going to happen with the EPA, Dodge, and the future anyway? its a crap shoot.

I used to race back in the 1960s. I had a1960 Impala, 283 bored out to 301, 4-speed Corvette close ratio transmission, 4 barrel carburetor, etc. But life happens and I had to get rid of my toys. I guess I’m trying to recreate that time of my life by building a new toy. I definitely want to take it to the track, just for the fun of it. I enjoy driving around and have people comment on the car. Plus, if I happen to pull up next to a mustang or Camaro, I might be tempted to have some more fun. I realize that I would lose warranty, and I want to be careful about that. I love the sound of the AWE exhaust, but what is the difference between a Touring sound and a Track sound. And to be honest, this is my Dream car, It reminds me of the days of racing GTOs, Camaros, and a few Mama’s cars.

Good advice here, I will just add that getting the best rear tires possible will probably be the best single one thing you can do to increase performance on these cars.

Your best bet will be my Performance 2 way under your budget and would leave room if you wanted to get an intake or exhaust if you wanted to.
https://mooredperformance.com/products/redeye-demon-performance-pack-2
Also if you just wanted a tune that would be a pretty nice gain as well.

Any questions let me know
your package seems exactly what I need. The only thing I am concerned with is finding a local garage that can install and warranty it. I realize this will negate my Dodge warranty, so I need hopefully the same garage that can handle any issues that crop up .

It’s curious that you said that, because I’ve contacted two dealers that install DC parts, but I can’t get either one of them to get back in touch with me. So I’m on to plan B, which I really need help with. My budget is 5000 to 6000. this being my Bucket List car, I would like to beef it up as much as I can, but I’m concerned about warranty. I need a garage to not only install the parts, but also to repair it if something happens. I’ll be 76 in two months, so I really want a toy to remind me of the good old days.

I hear you. I am one lucky young man who will celebrate the 69th in two weeks. Lucky because I am still able to get my QuickJacks out myself and crawl on the floor and still work on it as necessary. I have worked on cars myself since I was a kid. Fortunately after I DID make the painful decision two summers ago, to kiss my warranty good bye and hired @Jon-MooredPerformanceLLC to upgrade my RE, the ONLY item I have to do is simply change my converters in and out in order to use it on high speed road courses. I spent $700 to have a local shop carefully weld up some identical V-clamps to some by-pass pipes and my set of converters. Other than carefully measuring the appropriate amount of MS109 to add to the tank, it has not required anything else except oil changes. As Jon posted above, he can tune your hot rod within your budget. This car runs so well now, I cannot go more than partial throttle unless the straights are fairly long enough! I say realistically while faster cars exist, this tuned Redeye has not allowed ANYTHING I have not intended to go around it yet on a long straight! For drag racing he can tune that thing from where it is now to a potential sub nine sec car like he has in his own garage. If you cannot work on it, my hope is you have younger family or friends or can find an acceptable local shop to help. You go this route sir and your dreams and hopes will materialize. As you have seen above not many people are recommending the DC route.

Oh, why do I change the cats out??? Keeping in in warranty required a visit to the dealer each and everytime I went to one of my two favorite Road courses. Redeyes melt cats when you can use them like me and a few do. While Dodge added an impressive amount of power and other items to the base Hellcat engine, the same cats remain. I dare say they are highly inadequate along with some added AI shit programming referred to as Cat over temp (COT) that will do all sorts of bad things to the system that cause the cats temps to actually get so hot along with dumping extra fuel that my dealer describes as it was actually shooting flames into them and destroying them! Now you know why lots of us have kissed Dodge and DC to the ditch, besides not a good value, their reputation is not good.
